WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior
Lyden Fogg (South Portland, Maine) won his first event and posted multiple second place finishes for the Plymouth State University men's swim team in a season-opening double dual meet against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) and Husson University at Bruyette Natatorium on Saturday morning.
Coming off a historic 2023-24 season, Fogg started the day in the 200-yard medley relay, when he joined sophomore
Brady Martin (Auburn, Maine), junior
Brendan Lee (Dover, N.H.) and freshman
Griffin Srokose (Exeter, N.H.) to place fourth in 1:54.77.
Fogg immediately flexed his speed in the 50-yard backstroke, winning the event in 26.68, before closing out the day with second place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle.
The Panthers start the year at 0-2. Husson, which also topped the host Blue Jays, goes to 2-0, while St. Joseph is 1-2.

How it Happened:
- The 200-yard medley relay squad of Fogg, Martin, Lee and Srokose jumpstarted the Panthers with a fourth-place finish in 1:54.77.
- Fogg followed with the first win of the year in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 26.68.
- Martin nabbed third in the 50-yard breaststroke in 35.16.
- Lee tapped the wall in second place during the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.22.
- Fogg returned to the pool for the 100-backstroke, where he scored second in 58.16.
- Lee took home another second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.37, while Martin was fifth in 1:22.61.
- Fogg's final runner-up finish came in the 500-yard freestyle where he recorded a time of 5:44.60.
- Srokose finished fifth in the 50-yard butterfly in 32.55.
- Lee claimed second in the 100-yard IM when he finished the race in 1:04.21 to close out the day for the Panthers.
