BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Sophomore
Sofia Orama (Marlborough, Conn.) and junior
Alyssa Craigie (Gilford, N.H.) put up valiant efforts in singles play, but Plymouth State University was held off the scoreboard in a 9-0 setback at Bridgewater State University in Little East Conference (LEC) women's tennis action at Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts on Saturday.

Elena Cardoso (Hudson, Mass.) were competitive at No. 2 doubles, dropping an 804 decision. In singles action, Orama dropped the opening set, 6-2, and was nipped 7-5 in the second set at No. 6, while Craigie took seven total games in her setback at No. 3.
Plymouth State dips to 3-5 (2-4 LEC), while the Bears go to 7-2 (5-1 LEC).

How it Happened:
- Craigie and Cardoso kept things close in No. 2 doubles, but the Bears were able to hold on for an 8-4 win to sweep pairs play.
- Craigie continued her strong play into singles action but was unable to fend off her opponent at No. 3 in a 6-4, 6-3 setback.
- Orama dropped her opening set, 6-2, but battled hard in set two, eventually succumbing in a 7-5 loss at No. 6.
