PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's basketball team defeated the Vermont State University Badgers, 94-49, in a non-conference match in Foley Gymnasium Wednesday night.
Four Panthers reached double-digit scoring as sophomore
Jayden Montgomery (Nashua, N.H.) led all scorers with 17 points. Senior
Kevin Henry (Stratham, N.H.) and junior
Torran Bosworth (Springfield, Mass.) recorded 11 points apiece, while sophomore
Eli Pockette (Rutland Vt.) tallied 10 points in the winning effort for the Panthers.
The Panthers shot over 50.0% from the floor for the second straight game (53.5%) and have not trailed thru the first two games of the season. Eleven players recorded at least a point in the convincing second win of the season.
Plymouth State improves to 2-0 on the season, while VTSU Johnson falls to 0-4.

How it Happened:
- The Panthers opened the contest on an 18-2 run in the first seven minutes of play.
- VTSU Johnson came back to cut the game to 23-16 with 8:37 left in the first half.
- Plymouth State shooters got hot, pulling back out to a 40-19 advantage with 4:08 to go until halftime.
- The teams traded buckets in the final minutes of the first half as the Panthers maintained a comfortable margin (44-26) into the halftime break.
- The Panthers opened the second half with an 18-4 run to put the game fully out of reach before the Badgers could even think about chipping into the deficit. Plymouth State led 62-30 with 16 minutes left in regulation.
- Freshman Will Mollica (Stratham, N.H.) came off the bench in the second half and shot a perfect 4-for-4 with nine points.
