PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's basketball team defeated the New England College Pilgrims, 90-67, in a non-conference match in Foley Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.
 
After falling behind by ten points in the opening minutes of play, Plymouth State found its stride, taking a six-point lead into the half. The Panthers could not be stopped, as the team shot 61.3% from the floor in a dominant second half performance.
 
Five Panthers reached double-digit scoring as senior Kevin Henry (Stratham, N.H.) led all scorers with 20 points, while junior Torran Bosworth (Springfield, Mass.) recorded 14 points of his own. Senior Elijah Swanson (Meredith, N.H.), sophomore Jayden Montgomery (Nashua, N.H.), and sophomore Eli Pockette (Rutland Vt.) each tallied 12 points in the winning effort for the Panthers.
 
Plymouth State improves to 3-0 on the season, while New England College dips to 0-4.

• The Pilgrims came out fast, knocking down four-straight shots to go up 10-0 with 16:19 to go in the first half, forcing Plymouth State to take its first timeout of the contest to settle things down.
• With a moment to collect, the Panthers jumped into a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to 12-9 with 12:46 on the clock.
• The Panthers took their first lead of the game (17-15) at the 10:41 mark of the first.
• Play was knotted at 31-a-piece with 1:29 until halftime.
• Plymouth State closed out the first half on a 10-1 run, extending the lead to a 37-31 margin as the halftime buzzer sounded.
• The Panthers continued to gain separation as the team opened the second half with the first six points to move to 43-31 with 17:42 left in regulation.
• Behind a 9-0 run, the Panthers started to run away as the lead grew to 62-41 with 11:49 left in the contest.
