DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Sophomore Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) surged to a top-ten finish to lead the Plymouth State University women's cross country team to a fourth place finish at the Little East Conference Championships, hosted by UMass Dartmouth at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.
 
Karow claimed the second top-ten finish at the LEC Championships in her career after taking ninth overall with a season best time of 19:22.96. She becomes the second runner since 2013 to sit inside the top-ten at the championships twice in her career and the first to do so in back-to-back years.
 
Plymouth State finished fourth as a team with 105 points.

How it Happened:

• Karow led the Panthers with a ninth place finish in a time of 19:22.96.
• The duo of freshman Mia Sweeney (Plymouth, Mass.) and sophomore Molly Glew (Plymouth, N.H.) paced each other for top 25 finishes with career best times of 20:02.50 and 20:04.17.
• A trio closed in not far behind starting with freshman Mary McGloine (Schuylerville, N.Y.), who topped her season best in 20:30.05. Senior Abby Snow (Grantham, N.H.) and freshman Abby Marston (Greene, Maine) followed, with Snow posting a career best 20:44.26, ahead of Marston's 20:45.85.
• Junior Amber Fernald (Alton, N.H.) closed out the Panthers' top seven, crossing the line with her own career best of 21:42.91.

• Qualifying runners head to the Hopkinton Fair Grounds on Nov. 16 for the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship, hosted by Suffolk University. The women's 6k race is set for an 11:00 a.m. start.
