PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A pair of Plymouth State University men's soccer student-athletes were recognized by United Soccer Coaches with regional honors as the organization announced its All-Region teams.
Seniors
Faisal Abdallah (Accra, Ghana) and
Nolan McMann (Millville, Mass.) were both selected for All-Region I Third Team honors.
Abdallah picks up regional recognition for the third straight year after being named Second Team in 2022 and Third Team last fall. Already named Little East Conference (LEC) Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-LEC, Abdallah capped an outstanding career with 11 goals and 28 points – marks that both led the conference. He finished his career tied for seventh in program history with 30 career goals, while finishing eighth in career points (72).
McMann earns his first regional honor after securing a spot on the All-LEC Second Team last month. He anchored PSU's defensive unit that was tied for second in the LEC in opponents' goals per game, surrendering just 1.00 per contest in league play. Plymouth State's defense recorded four shutouts, the most since the 2009 squad posted five clean sheets.
Under 23-year head coach
Rob Wright, the Panthers went 9-9-2 overall and returned to the LEC Tournament for the first time since 2015. As the fifth seed, PSU blanked fourth-seeded Keene State in a first round game for the team's first postseason victory since the 2008 season. The Panthers fell to WestConn, the eventual tournament champions, in the semifinal round.
