Margie Black (Longmeadow, Mass.) made a career-high 13 saves but Bowdoin College ran past Plymouth State University, 22-4, in a non-conference women's lacrosse game at Howard F. Ryan Field on Wednesday evening.
The Polar Bears scored three times in the opening six minutes before junior
Maddie Hunt (Littleton, Mass.) got PSU on the board during a woman-up situation. The hosts responded with seven straight goals to carry an 11-2 lead into halftime.
The Panthers hung with Bowdoin through the first half of the third quarter, but the hosts scored the final nine goals of the contest to secure the win.
Plymouth State slides to 3-4, while the Polar Bears move to 5-3.

How it Happened:
- Bowdoin took a 3-0 lead over the first six minutes of action before Hunt converted a woman-up goal to pull within 3-1 with 5:11 left in the first quarter.
- The hosts closed the frame with back-to-back scores to push the lead to 5-1.
- Bowdoin continued the surge into the second quarter as the advantage grew to 10-1 before senior Megan Gaspa (Laconia, N.H.) countered for the Panthers with 2:27 before halftime.
- The Polar Bears scored late in the period to make it an 11-2 game at the half.
- The teams traded markers through the first eight minutes of the third quarter.
- Sophomore Camryn Loomis (Seekonk, Mass.) made it 12-3 with just under 11 minutes to go and Hunt's free position tally resulted in a 13-4 score.
- Bowdoin closed the stanza with three straight to make it 16-4 heading into the final quarter.
- The hosts did all the fourth-quarter scoring to close out the game.
