Matt Miner (Chelmsford, Mass.) posted a game-high five points and senior
Crosby Fay (Waterville Valley, N.H.) scored four goals as Plymouth State University overpowered Plattsburgh State University, 15-2, in a non-conference men's lacrosse game at Panther Field on Saturday afternoon.
Miner opened the scoring just over five minutes into the contest as Plymouth State would build a 14-0 lead through the first three quarters. The Cardinals spoiled the shutout bid 5:24 into the fourth and the teams traded goals from there to account for the final score.
Plymouth State improves to 5-0 while Plattsburgh State dips to 3-2.

How it Happened:
- Miner got the barrage started 5:07 into the contest. Freshman Kevin Cougler (Dover, N.H.) posted his first career goal two minutes later and junior Leif Charbonneau (North Grafton, Mass.) won the ensuing faceoff and raced down the field to score his first of the year for a 3-0 lead.
- Sophomore Brady Hunt (Billerica, Mass.) and sophomore Cam Jenkins (Shrewsbury, Mass.) added tallies of their own to make it 5-0 after one.
- Fay scored his first of four second-quarter goals during a man-up situation 2:24 into the second, then buried his second just over two minutes later.
- Junior defenseman Zach Gilvar (Stratham, N.H.) scored his second career goal and Miner found the back of the cage between another two Fay scores as the lead ballooned to 11-0 with less than five minutes in the stanza.
- Hunt added his second of the afternoon for a 12-0 lead heading to the halftime intermission.
- Junior Shea Clark (Woburn, Mass.) and senior Liam Brown (Center Harbor, N.H.) tallied the lone goals in the third quarter to make it 14-0 after three.
- The Cardinals broke through 5:24 into the fourth. Senior Anthony Lorizio (Milton, Mass.) posted his first goal of the year for a 15-1 lead, before Plattsburgh State closed the scoring with just under two minutes to go.
By the Numbers:
- Miner stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, three assists, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
- Fay poured in four goals and leads the team with 14 tallies on the year.
- Hunt (two goals, one assist) and Cougler (one goal, one assist) also posted multi-point games.
- Freshman Aiden Renner (Phillipsburg, N.J.) went 8-4 on faceoffs and scooped up a team-high seven ground balls.
- Junior Leif Charbonneau (North Grafton, Mass.) won 7-of-9 faceoffs with four ground balls, while classmate Jake Lusardo (Norwalk, Conn.) had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Senior Owen McNichols (Manchester, N.H.) made three saves in the first half to improve to 5-0. Junior Ethan Schena (Methuen, Mass.) made nine saves in 22:50 of action, with sophomore Matt Montoya (Shrewsbury, Mass.) adding a stop while playing the final 7:10.
- Plymouth State held a 28-15 advantage in shots and controlled the faceoffs by a 15-6 margin.
- PSU went 21-of-28 on clears, while the Cardinals were 22-for-29.
- The Panthers converted on 1-of-2 man-up chances and were not flagged for a penalty.
- Plattsburgh State leads the all-time series, 5-2, though the Panthers have won each of the last two matchups.
