Nominated by their schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must have completed their final year of playing eligibility in Fall 2023 or Spring 2024, attained a 3.20 cumulative grade point average throughout their entire course of undergraduate study, met all NCAA or NAIA-mandated progress toward degree requirements and been starters or contributors throughout the 2023 season. Graduated student-athletes who have remaining eligibility but will not return to play collegiate football are also eligible for nomination.
A record total of 1,989 athletes from 339 colleges and universities were honored as the Society celebrates its 18th year.
"We are thrilled to honor a record number of athletes as part of this year's Hampshire Honor Society," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "Over the last 18 years, the Hampshire Honor Society has served as a powerful vehicle for schools to recognize their college football players who have distinguished themselves both academically and athletically, and we congratulate the schools and each of these young men for their commitment to excellence in all aspects of their lives."
The NFF Hampshire Honor Society builds upon the NFF's National Scholar-Athlete program by greatly expanding the number of student-athletes the NFF can recognize each year. Jon F. Hanson, the chairman and founder of The Hampshire Companies and NFF Chairman Emeritus, provided the funds to launch the NFF Hampshire Honor Society in 2007. Celebrating its 18th year in 2024, the initiative has previously honored 16,398 student-athletes since its inception.
The full list of honorees represents all collegiate divisions including FBS, FCS, D-II, D-III and NAIA and can be found online at
