PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior
Tarryn O'Brien (Weymouth, Mass.) and junior
Maddie Hunt (Littleton, Mass.) scored four goals apiece as Plymouth State University raced past Bridgewater State University, 18-4, in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Panther Field on Tuesday evening.
The Panthers stormed out to a 6-0 lead through the first 7:40 of action and never looked back. PSU held a 9-2 advantage at the end of the first quarter and pushed the margin to 14-3 by halftime before coasting to the win through the second half.
Plymouth State jumps to 4-5, while the Bears slip to 4-8.

How it Happened:
- O'Brien opened the scoring 1:20 into the first and junior Jenna Stowell (Londonderry, N.H.) won the ensuing draw and raced down the field before hitting Hunt for a score just 11 seconds later as PSU jumped out to the early lead.
- Senior Amelia Thomas (Hopkinton, N.H.) buried her fourth of the year ahead of goals from O'Brien and Hunt. Stowell pushed the advantage to 6-0 with 7:20 left in the frame.
- Bridgewater State temporarily slowed the momentum to make it 6-1, but Thomas, junior Julia Donovan (Antrim, N.H.) and O'Brien each added goals for a 9-1 lead.
- The Bears tallied the last goal of the frame in the final 20 seconds, then cut further into the deficit with a goal 2:53 into the second to make it 9-3.
- Plymouth State took over from there, scoring nine straight goals over the next 24 minutes of game play to make it 18-3.
- Senior Elle Moshier (Stratford, Conn.) started the streak with Stowell and senior Megan Gaspa (Laconia, N.H.) adding goals in the first five minutes of the second to make it 12-3.
- Donovan added her second of the night midway through the quarter and sophomore Morgan Cunningham (Wrentham, Mass.) notched her fifth of the year in the final minute for a 14-3 advantage at halftime.
- Thomas and O'Brien added third period goals and Hunt ripped off back-to-back scores to make it 18-3 heading into the fourth quarter.
- The Bears secured the lone marker in the fourth to account for the final score.
By the Numbers:
- O'Brien finished with four goals and an assist, while Hunt scored four times and added three ground balls.
- Thomas was all over the field with three goals, five ground balls, three caused turnovers and three draw controls.
- Stowell stuffed the stat sheet with two goals, three assists, 12 draw controls, four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
- Donovan also posted a multi-point game with two goals and two assists.
- Plymouth State owned a 30-8 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Panthers were an efficient 10-for-11 in clear attempts, while limiting the Bears to just 10-of-20.
- Led by Stowell, PSU dominated the draws by a 21-5 margin.
- Plymouth State leads the all-time series, 26-10, and had won seven straight meetings before the Bears eked out a 12-10 win in Bridgewater last year.
