NASHUA, N.H. – Sophomore
Sydney Riley (Haverhill, Mass.) turned in another error-free performance, recording six kills (.462) and two blocks as Plymouth State University swept Rivier University, 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-12), in a non-conference women's volleyball match at Muldoon Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
Plymouth State controlled the opening set after building an early five-point lead, then used fast starts to cruise to wins in sets two and three. Freshman

Ella Koelb (Auburn, N.H.) led the offense with eight kills apiece, while sophomore
Danielle Emerson (Biddeford, Maine) stuffed the stat sheet with 18 assists, 11 digs and four aces.
The Panthers, winners of nine straight, improve to 11-4 on the season, while the Raiders fall to 6-9.

How it Happened:
- Freshman Fiona Bailey (Wrentham, Mass.) registered a kill before classmate Sya McKay (Somersworth, N.H.) fired off three straight aces to make it 8-3 in set one. Rivier pulled within three, but Riley's kill and block pushed the margin to 19-14, forcing a timeout. The teams traded points the rest of the way, with junior Annalyn Cahill (Mystic, Conn.) sealing the 25-19 win with a kill.
- McKay and Koelb tallied two kills apiece as PSU bolted to a 10-1 lead in set two. The Raiders cut it to 14-9, but Cahill's kill sparked a 9-1 surge. Borriello Diaz hammered three kills during the run and a Rivier miscue closed out the frame, 25-12.
- Emerson fueled a 7-0 run to open set three with three aces. Back-to-back Raider errors stretched the lead to 14-2, and the Panthers coasted to another 25-12 win to secure the sweep.
By the Numbers:
- Borriello Diaz posted eight kills (.313), five digs, and three aces.
- Koelb chipped in 13 assists, eight kills, six digs, and two aces.
- Emerson registered a double-double with 18 assists and 11 digs, to go with her match-high four aces.
- Senior Veronika Castro Rodriguez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) had a match-best 17 digs.
- Plymouth State finished with 41 kills and hit .289, while limiting Rivier to 16 total kills (.011).
- The Panthers finished with 13 aces.
- Plymouth State leads the all-time series, 16-7, and has won each of the last six meetings.
