PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Junior
Chloe Ahern (Middleton, Mass.) and sophomore
Lauryn Corrigan (Littleton, N.H.) teamed up for a win at No. 2 doubles, but Bridgewater State University overpowered Plymouth State University, 7-0, in a Little East Conference (LEC) women's tennis match on
Senior Day at the Holderness School Courts on Saturday.
Ahern and Corrigan picked up a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles, but the Bears earned victories at the top and third flights to take an early lead.

Alyssa Craigie (Gilford, N.H.) was edged in a tight battle at No. 1.

Senior Day celebration.
Plymouth State wraps up its season at 3-8 (2-6 LEC), while the Bears (9-4, 7-1 LEC) head into next week's LEC Tournament as the No. 2 seed.

How it Happened:
- Ahern and Corrigan secured a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.
- Lorenz and freshman Sidney Huff (Port Orchard, Wash.) were nipped, 6-3, at No. 3.
- Ahern took the opening set at No. 2 singles, 6-4, but her opponent rallied with 6-1 and 6-2 wins for the come-from-behind victory.
- Craigie dropped her opening set, 6-2, before falling in a second-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5).
- Corrigan came up short, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 4 singles, while junior Sofia Orama (Marlborough, Conn.) fell by a 6-2, 6-2 margin at No. 3.
- After falling 6-0 in the opening set, Lorenz put up a strong fight in set two before dropping a 6-3 decision.
By the Numbers:
- Corrigan finished the year with a team-high four singles wins.
- Lorenz went 3-3 at No. 5 singles on the season.
- Ahern and Corrigan were the Panthers' most successful pairing, going 4-3 in doubles play and winning each of their last four matches.
- The Bears have won six straight meetings and lead the all-time series, 19-5.
