MH: Hot-handed Tremblay-Mathieu claims November Athlete of the Month nod

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman Étienne Tremblay-Mathieu (Québec City, Québec) has been named the PSU Male Athlete of the Month for November, sponsored by the New Hampshire Army National Guard, after powering the Panther men's ice hockey team to a 5-3-0 month.

Tremblay-Mathieu paced the Panthers' offensive surge with five goals and seven assists for a team-leading 12 points – a 1.50 points per game average. He factored into three power-play goals and delivered a hat trick, emerging as a consistent difference-maker during PSU's five-game Little East Conference (LEC) win streak in November.

Tremblay-Mathieu erupted during Plymouth State's four-game homestand, beginning with a dominant four-point performance in a 7-1 rout of UMass Dartmouth on Nov. 14. He scored a power-play goal and dished out three assists as PSU overwhelmed the Corsairs.

He followed with another multi-point outing the next afternoon, registering assists on both the game-tying and game-winning goals in a thrilling 3-2 win over UMass Boston to cap an unbeaten weekend at the start of a pivotal stretch of LEC action. He was named LEC Rookie of the Week on Nov. 17 following the six-point weekend.

Tremblay-Mathieu stayed hot the following weekend, tallying a goal and an assist in front of a sellout crowd as PSU topped Keene State, 5-2, on Nov. 21, before delivering his most explosive effort of the season the next day. The 5-8 defenseman lit up WestConn for three goals and an assist, recording his first career hat trick and matching his career high with four points to spearhead a 7-2 victory. He scored each of the Panthers' first three goals, including the game-winner, securing the hat trick before the midpoint of the second period.

He closed out the month with another strong outing at Trinity College – a team receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll at the time – logging multiple blocked shots in the contest.

Plymouth State (6-4-0, 5-1-0 LEC), winners of six of its last seven contests, closes out the 2025 portion of its schedule on Wednesday (Dec. 10) when Anna Maria comes to Hanaway Rink for a 6 p.m. matchup.
