BOSTON, Mass. – Senior
Kevin Henry (Stratham, N.H.) scored 21 points to continue his march towards the 1,000-career point club, but the University of Massachustts Boston shot better than 55% from the floor to top Plymouth State University, 88-57, in a Little East Conference (LEC) game at Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium on Saturday.
The Beacons got out to a hot start to build a quick double-digit advantage, and PSU was unable to keep pace. The Panthers trimmed the deficit to nine with three minutes left in the first half, but the hosts used an 11-1 surge to head into the break with a comfortable lead.
UMass Boston continued its hot shooting in the second half, firing at a 55.6% clip including a 5-for-10 effort from beyond the three-point line to stave off any thoughts of another Plymouth State comeback.
Henry finished with 21 points to inch closer to the individual milestone. He currently sits at 963 points with two regular season games left on the slate.
