BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) shattered a program record as she and a trio of men's student-athletes of the Plymouth State University indoor track & field team competed at day two of the Showdown at the Heights hosted by Boston College at the TRACK at new balance on Saturday.
Karow won her heat of the 800-meters by about four seconds, crossing the line in 2:20.41. Her time demolished her own program mark that she reset last week by roughly two seconds. She now ranks fourth in the East Region in the event.
Senior
Eli Roth (Stamford, Conn.) competed in the men's 800-meters, running a 2:00.77 to place inside the top 20.
Senior
Connor Wilcox (Colchester, Conn.) impressively dipped well under the nine-minute barrier for the second time in his career in the 3,000-meters when he crossed the line in 8:53.56 for third in his heat and inside the top 30 overall. Sophomore
Cooper O'Neil (Millbury, Mass.) ran a 9:23.41.
Plymouth State returns home to host its Alumni Meet next Saturday (Feb. 15) starting at 2:00 p.m.
