MBB: Anchormen stave off Plymouth State

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's basketball team was defeated by the Rhode Island College Anchormen, 79-74, in a Little East Conference (LEC) battle at Foley Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
 
Senior Elijah Swanson (Meredith, N.H.) led the Panthers with 18 points, while sophomore Eli Pockette (Rutland, Vt.) added 17 points of his own. Senior Kevin Henry (Stratham, N.H.) registered 15 points in the contest with sophomore Ivan Yen (Concord, N.H.) tallying 10 points in the losing effort for the Panthers.
 
Plymouth State falls to 10-11 (3-9 LEC) on the season, while RIC moves to 14-8 (9-4 LEC).

  • The Panthers started with an early 10-4 lead with 13:33 on the clock in the opening half.
  • RIC took its first lead of the contest at the 6:11 mark in the first half, knocking down a three-pointer to go up 22-21.
  • With 3:29 to go until halftime, the teams were knotted at 27-27.
