WORCESTER, Mass. – The Plymouth State University women's tennis dropped its season opener to NCAA Division I Holy Cross in a non-conference match at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Sarah Lamy (Hooksett, N.H.) was the lone Panther to collect multiple games in singles play, as the Crusaders looked to be in midseason form from the opening serve.
Plymouth State starts the season 0-1, while Holy Cross improves to 1-0.

How it Happened:
- The Crusaders swept doubles play, winning No. 1 and No. 2 by identical 6-0 scores.
- Senior Maddie Lorenz (Jefferson, N.H.) and freshman Sidney Huff (Port Orchard, Wash.) took a game at No. 3 before falling, 6-1.
- Lamy earned single games in each set at No. 6 singles.
- Junior Sofia Orama (Marlborough, Conn.) captured a game in the second set at No. 3 singles but dropped the match, 6-0, 6-1.
- Sophomore Lauryn Corrigan (Littleton, N.H.) also won a game for the Panthers at No. 4 singles.
By the Numbers:
- Corrigan, Lamy, and Huff all made their lineup debuts.
- This was the first ever meeting between the two programs.

- Plymouth State opens its home slate with another out-of-division contest, hosting Saint Anselm College next Tuesday (Sept. 9). First serve at Holderness School Courts is set for 4:00 p.m.
