DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Plymouth State University fell to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Corsairs, 86-66, in a Little East Conference (LEC) men's basketball game at the Tripp Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.
 
In an exciting first half that featured seven lead changes, the Panthers were poised to stay in the fight, but a 22-3 run spanning halftime put the Corsairs out in front for good, as PSU could not claw back with limited time to play.
 
Four Panthers scored in double figures, as senior Yansel Reyes (Manchester, N.H.) led all scorers with 22 points. Junior Eli Pockette (Rutland, Vt.) and freshman Asante' Aurora (New Bedford, Mass.) each tallied 12 points, while senior Torran Bosworth (Springfield, Mass.) recorded 10 points for the Panthers.
 
Plymouth State falls to 6-10 (2-5 LEC), while UMass Dartmouth improves to 9-7 (3-4 LEC).

How it Happened:

• The Panthers opened on a 10-2 run in the first four minutes of the contest.
• UMD found its stride outscoring Plymouth State 13-4 over the next seven minutes to take its first lead of the afternoon (15-14) midway through the first half.
• The Corsairs extended the margin to 10 points (28-18) with five minutes to go until the halftime break.
• The Panthers erupted with 11 unanswered points to regain the lead and go up 32-30 with 2:34 to go in the first half.
• UMass Dartmouth jumped back in front to take a 40-34 lead into the locker room.
• The Corsairs started the second half on a 16-3 run to increase the margin to 56-37 with 14:14 on the clock.
• Plymouth State managed to trim the margin to 11 points midway through the second half but could get no closer as UMass Dartmouth pulled away with the conference win.
