PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's basketball team fell to the University of Southern Maine Huskies, 77-69, in a Little East Conference (LEC) matchup in Foley Gymnasium Wednesday night.
The Panthers brought down 16 offensive rebounds and produced 35 more field goal attempts, but Southern Maine outscored PSU from the free throw line by a 35-12 margin to secure the win.
Plymouth State found its rhythm late, using a 16-5 surge to cut a 16-point deficit to 71-66 with more than a minute to play, but that was as close as the Panthers would get.

Torran Bosworth (Springfield, Mass.) led Plymouth State with 20 points, while sophomore
Brady Hulland (Amston, Conn.) added 11 points. Senior
Yansel Reyes (Manchester, N.H.) tallied 10 points in the losing effort for the Panthers.
Plymouth State falls to 6-11 (2-6 LEC), while Southern Maine improves to 11-6 (6-2 LEC).

How it Happened:
- The teams struggled offensively to start the contest, but eight converted free throws helped the Huskies to a 10-4 lead.
- Plymouth State got to within two points (15-13) at the 10:51 mark in the opening half.
- Behind a 12-2 run, the Huskies extended the lead to 27-15 with 6:36 left before halftime.
- The Panthers managed to cut the deficit back to single digits with two-and-a-half minutes remaining in the first half, but USM converted the last two field goals of the first half to take a 37-25 lead into the locker room.
- Southern Maine slowly started to pull away, increasing the advantage to 52-33 with 11:56 left in regulation.
- Plymouth State found its flow, using an 11-3 run to pull within 58-48 with 7:53 on the clock.
