MB: WestConn uses late run to hold off Panthers

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University fell to the Western Connecticut State University Wolves, 78-66, in a Little East Conference (LEC) men's basketball game in Foley Gymnasium in a Saturday matinee.
 
The Panthers trailed by as many as 15 points early in the second half but sliced the deficit to five, 64-59, with five-plus minutes to play. Plymouth State was still in striking distance, with less than three minutes to play, but WestConn closed out the game with a 7-2 spurt.
 
Senior Yansel Reyes (Manchester, N.H.) put together his ninth 20-point scoring affair of the season with 21 points, while freshman Evan Berkeley (Chichester, N.H.) tallied a career-high 17 points for the Panthers.
 
Plymouth State falls to 6-13 (2-8 LEC), while WestConn improves to 15-5 (8-3 LEC).
