PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Just one day after earning Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie of the Week recognition, freshman Macy Swormstedt (Laconia, N.H.) added another award to her trophy case by being named the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Rookie of the Week.
 
Swormstedt had a huge week for the Panthers, averaging just shy of a double-double with 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 71.4% from the floor.
 
She tied her career high with 20 points while going 6-for-9 from the field in Wednesday's setback at Keene State. Swormstedt added six rebounds, three steals, and an assist while playing 36 minutes, including a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc.
 
In Saturday's 84-54 blowout over UMass Dartmouth, Swormstedt took her game to another level, coming within striking distance of a triple-double. Her final stat line included 19 points on 9-for-12 shooting, 12 rebounds, seven assists, five steals. The 12 rebounds and five steals were both career bests.
 
Plymouth State (10-11, 3-9 LEC) heads to #25/RV Southern Maine on Wednesday (Feb. 11). Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
