PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Graduate goalie
Ethan Schena (Methuen, Mass.) made 19 saves, but Massachusetts Maritime Academy overcame an early deficit to top Plymouth State University, 13-5, in a Little East Conference (LEC) men's lacrosse game at Panther Field on Saturday morning.
For the second straight game, freshman
Seamus Tattan (West Roxbury, Mass.) scored in the opening seconds, and his second goal of the day gave PSU a 2-1 lead less than two minutes into the game. However, the Buccaneers closed the opening quarter with a 4-0 burst and led the rest of the way.
Plymouth State falls to 6-7 (2-4 LEC), while the Buccaneers improve to 11-2 (5-1 LEC).

How it Happened:
- Junior Aiden Renner (Phillipsburg, N.J.) won the opening faceoff and found Tattan alone in front for a goal just six seconds into the game.
- The Buccaneers answered 33 seconds later, but Tattan restored the lead, 2-1, a minute later.
- Mass Maritime pulled ahead with four straight goals to take a 5-2 lead into the second quarter.
- Renner scored the lone goal of the second to make it a 5-3 game at halftime.
- The Buccaneers ran off three straight goals to start the third and extend the lead to 8-3, but Renner cut through the defense for his second goal of the game with 6:34 left in the frame.
- Mass. Maritime responded just over a minute later, but senior Brady Hunt (Billerica, Mass.) found the back of the cage to pull PSU within 9-5 at the end of the third.
- The Buccaneers pulled away in the fourth with a 4-0 spurt to seal the win.
By the Numbers:
- Renner and Tattan posted two goals and an assist apiece.
- Schena made 19 saves and collected five ground balls.
- Freshmen Dylan Repassy (Westborough, Mass.) and Brian Pluck (Clinton, Conn.) each recorded three caused turnovers.
- Mass Maritime held a 32-11 advantage in shots.
