Annalyn Cahill (Mystic, Conn.) had eight kills without an error and classmate
Christa Imbriano (Wakefield, Mass.) set a career high in digs as Plymouth State University cruised past Saint Joseph's College (Maine), 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-18), in a non-conference women's volleyball match at Harold Alfond Center on Tuesday evening.
Cahill had back-to-back kills during an 8-0 run early in the opening set, and the Panthers maintained at least a five-point edge the rest of the way. Sophomore
Alexa Marucci (Newton, Mass.), who served eight straight points in the first set, followed with another long serving run in the second set to give PSU a 9-1 advantage. The Panthers extended the lead to double digits before coasting to the win, then built another early lead in the third set to complete the sweep. Imbriano posted a career-high 22 digs in the win.
Plymouth State improves to 6-3, while St. Joe's moves to 3-5.

How it Happened:
- Cahill's first kill of the night sparked an early run as Marucci ripped off seven straight points. Cahill had two more kills in the surge as the Panthers grabbed an early 10-1 advantage. The Monks got as close as five, 13-8, but an error, followed by a block from Cahill and sophomore Sya McKay (Somersworth, N.H.) slowed the momentum, and the Panthers cruised to a comfortable 25-15 win.
- Set two followed a similar early script, as McKay's kill preceded Marucci's six-point serving run for a quick 9-1 lead. Sophomore Emily Sousa (Farmington, Conn.) had an ace as the lead grew to 16-4, and the Panthers coasted to a 25-14 victory.
- McKay and freshman Maddie Andrade (Hooksett, N.H.) had early kills as the Panthers started quickly once again, jumping ahead 10-2. St. Joe's cut the lead to 11-6, but junior Sydney Riley (Haverhill, Mass.) answered with a kill and block during a 4-0 spurt. PSU maintained at least a five-point edge the rest of the way, with Andrade's winner closing out the 25-18 win.

- Cahill nailed eight kills and hit .348 (8-0-23), adding two blocks to her stat line.
- McKay also chipped in eight kills and two blocks, while Andrade and Riley finished with six kills apiece.
- Junior Danielle Emerson (Biddeford, Maine) finished with 14 assists and six digs, while Sousa and freshman Kathryn Driend (Sandown, N.H.) each had five assists.
- Senior Christa Imbriano (Wakefield, Mass.) posted a career-high 22 digs, while Marucci chipped in 12 digs and three aces.
- The Panthers hit .212 as a team while limiting St. Joe's to .063.
- Plymouth State leads the all-time series, 23-2, and has won each of the last nine meetings.
