PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three members of the Plymouth State University women's soccer program were honored by the Little East Conference (LEC) on Monday, as the league announced its weekly award winners.
 
Sophomore Maggie MacDonald (Pembroke, Mass.) was named LEC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while freshmen Liv Desruisseaux (Dracut, Mass.) and Sam Nikou (North Attleboro, Mass.) were selected Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
 
MacDonald needed less than 18 minutes of game time to score a brace in a 4-1 win over Vermont State University Castleton on Saturday. She opened the scoring in the 14th minute when she stole a pass and blasted a shot from 30 yards out over the Spartan goalkeeper. Four minutes later, she one-timed a shot from the top of the six inside the right post for what would prove to be the game-winning goal.
 
Desruisseaux made six combined saves and allowed just one goal in a 2-0 week. She made three saves to earn her first career clean sheet in Tuesday's 1-0 shutout of Elms College, then added three more in Saturday's 4-1 win over Castleton.
 
Nikou played all 180 minutes across the two games, helping to anchor a defense that surrendered just 13 total shots and one goal. At center back, Nikou controlled and organized the back line.
 
Plymouth State (6-2-0, 1-2-0 LEC) welcomes Salem State University to Arold Field on Tuesday (Sept. 29) with a chance to surpass last year's win total before the end of September. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
