PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Plymouth State University women's soccer team broke out of a scoring slump in a big way Thursday afternoon with a 9-0 victory over Lyndon State College in non-conference action at Panther Field.

            The Panthers, who had gone five straight games without scoring a goal, found the net seven times in the first half en route to the win.  PSU evens its record at 3-3-2 overall, while Lyndon State, which is in transition to an NCAA program, drops to 4-5-1.

            Freshman Gill Carroll (Guilford, Conn.) led the Panthers with her first two goals of the season, including the first of the game just 10 minutes in.  Classmate Katherine Goller (Williston, Vt.) also knocked one in for the Panthers as the home team led 3-0 midway through the opening frame. PSU closed out the first half with unanswered goals from juniors Lauren Lavery (Nashua, N.H./Nashua South) and Stacy DiSabato (Manchester, N.H./Central) and sophomores Sarah Daglis (Berlin, Conn.) and Rebecca Wilson (Clinton, Conn.)

            The Panthers poured it on in the second half as seniors Nicole Bedard (Windham, N.H./Alvirne) and Kelsea Anderson (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) finished off the scoring.  PSU finished with a 30-3 advantage in shots.

            The Panthers return to Little East Conference action Saturday with a visit to the University of Southern Maine for a 1:00 p.m. contest, while Lyndon State plays at Hesser College Sunday at 1:00 p.m.)
