GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Jacob Rigoli (Essex, Vt.) set a new school record and moved up to sixth in the nation in the weight throw as the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field team competed at the USM COVID Catch Up hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Sunday.
Rigoli actually set a new school record on his fourth attempt, before clearing 18 meters on his fifth throw to move up the national performance list as he attempts to qualify for the National Championship meet in March.
The meet was a non-scoring meet.

How it Happened:
- Rigoli topped his previous school record on his fourth throw, reaching 17.66 meters, before besting that on his very next throw to clear 18.06 meters – the sixth longest throw in all of NCAA Division III.
- Freshman Jimmy Peluso (Fair Haven, N.J.) extended the good day for PSU throwers as he finished third in the shot put with a toss of 11.09 meters.
- Junior Mike Olson (Sutton, Mass.) had a strong showing in the mile run as his time of 4:27.04 was the second fastest of the day.
- Sophomore Brandon Vachon (Ayer, Mass.) took second in the triple jump after covering 11.52 meters, while freshman Pat D'Entremont (Seabrook, N.H.) was second to cross the finish line in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.26 seconds.
- Junior Luke Gomes (Litchfield, N.H.) and sophomore Ryan Moyer (Dover, N.H.) finished two-three in the 800-meter run. Gomes posted a personal best time of 2:03.50, with Moyer just three seconds behind.
- PSU had four of the top six finishers in the 400-meter dash, led by freshman Christian Oglesby (Penacook, N.H.), who was second in 52.43 seconds.
- Juniors Colin Moar (Annandale, Va.) and Brent Coope (Wolfeboro, N.H.) both had person best times in the 1000-meter run to finish first and second, with freshman Eli Roth (Stamford, Conn.) right behind them in third.
- Junior Ian Griffiths (Bedford, Mass.) also had a big day for the Panthers, setting a personal record of 6.71 seconds to take fourth in the 55-meter dash, while also finishing fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.37 meters.
- Oglesby, Moyer and Olson teamed up with sophomore Jyaire Hatcher (Uniondale, N.Y.) to win the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:33.79.
