KEENE, N.H. – Back on the court for the first time in 18 days, Plymouth State University put up 16 points and held Keene State College to 0-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter during a 65-37 setback to the Owls in Little East Conference (LEC) women's basketball at Spaulding Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.
PSU battled through some rust during the first three quarters, a clear sign of not having played since Jan. 8, but the Panthers were able to outscore a good-shooting Owls' team by double digits in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore
Sabrina Vlahovic (New Hope, Pa.) led the Panthers with 13 points. Junior
Jalen Cook (Monkton, Vt.) scored 12 points of her own, while sophomore
Lauren Keller (Fort Morgan, Colo.) also scored in double digits with 10 points in the losing effort.
Plymouth State (1-9, 0-5 LEC) will look to carry the momentum from a strong fourth quarter into Friday's (Jan. 28) game at Eastern Connecticut State University. Keene State moves to 5-10 (2-6 LEC).

How it Happened:
- Both teams had a slow start as the Panthers led 4-2 halfway through the opening quarter, but the Owls pulled in front to lead 13-4 after the first ten minutes.
- Plymouth State scored on three straight possessions in the second quarter to make the score 20-10 with five minutes left in the half, but KSC would take a 37-15 lead into halftime.
- The Panthers seemed to get into a good flow in the fourth quarter with the defense holding KSC without a field goal until the 1:40 mark while outscoring the Owls by a 16-6 margin in the frame.
By the Numbers:
- The Panthers rallied from the slow start to go 7-of-22 including a pair of three-pointers in the fourth quarter, while holding Keene State to 0-of-5 from distance.
- Both teams came away with 12 steals, with Cook and junior Autumn Nelson (Weare, N.H.) swiping four apiece.
- Nearly half of PSU's offensive production came in the fourth quarter after the long layoff.
- Vlahovic, Cook and junior Alessia Salzillo (Saugus, Mass.) accounted for 18 of the team's 34 rebounds.
