WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The Plymouth State University women's basketball team fell to Eastern Connecticut State University, 86-44, in a Little East Conference (LEC) women's basketball game at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium on Friday evening.
The Panthers put together another strong fourth quarter, shooting nearly 40% for the frame, but were unable to rally from a slow start.
Junior
Alessia Salzillo (Saugus, Mass.) paced the PSU offense with 14 points while shooting an even 50% from the floor. Sophomore
Sabrina Vlahovic (New Hope, Pa.) chipped in with 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds, and classmate
Jessica Ruiz (Lynn, Mass.) added six points and three assists.
Plymouth State falls to 1-10 (0-6 LEC), while Eastern Connecticut improves to 10-8 and 7-2 in the LEC.

- After scoring the game-opening bucket the Panthers found themselves on the back end of a 10-2 run to trail 10-4 midway through the opening quarter.
- PSU cut the margin to three, 14-11, with 3:53 left on the clock in the first.
- The Warriors closed out the quarter with a 10-0 surge to lead 24-11 after one.
- The hosts extended the lead with big second and third quarters to hold a 63-29 advantage at the end of three.
- Plymouth State put together its best offensive quarter over the final ten minutes netting 15 points while shooting just shy of 40% from the floor, but the margin was too big to overcome.

- Eastern Connecticut shot an impressive 50.8% from the floor and attempted 21 free throws, while the Panthers were awarded just 12 attempts from the charity stripe.
- PSU pulled down 12 offensive boards and 29 total rebounds.
