BOSTON, Mass. – Senior
Jacob Rigoli (Essex, Vt.) jumpstarted the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field season with a huge personal best and new program record at the Joe Donahue Games hosted by Northeastern University at The TRACK at New Balance on Friday afternoon.
Rigoli, who threw a phenomenal 19.28 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships last winter to finish third in the nation, continued his trend of topping records with a throw of 19.42 meters to finish second. The only member of the team competing, Rigoli's seven points were enough for a fifth-place team finish among the NCAA institutions competing.
Rigoli's throw ranks second in the country, just one centimeter behind the leader.
Plymouth State kicks off its first full-team competition on Saturday (Dec. 10) when it hosts the PSU Winter Classic at the Bank of New Hampshire Field House at ALLWell North. Field events begin at 11:00 a.m.
