BOSTON, Mass. – Senior
Georgia McLellan (Kamloops, British Columbia) punched in Plymouth State University's lone goal in a 6-1 setback o the University of Massachusetts Boston on the final day of the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's ice hockey regular season Saturday afternoon at the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink.
McLellan got the scoring started by snatching the puck from the Beacons and potting a long-range shot between the pipe and home goaltender to put the Panthers up 1-0 in the first period.
Unfortunately, her tally could not spark the PSU momentum, as UMass Boston would respond with six unanswered goals to put the game out of reach and end the regular season on a sour note.
Plymouth State ends the regular season at 7-16-1 and 5-13-0 in the NEHC, while the Beacons go to 12-12-0 and 11-7-0 in conference play.
