WESTFIELD, Mass. – Freshman
Rose Karow (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and senior
Emily Philbrook (Penacook, N.H.) teamed up once again with dominant outings to bring the Plymouth State University women's cross country team to an 11th place finish at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park on Saturday.
Karow continues to dominate in her rookie season with a 13th place finish, which was also fifth among first-year runners, in her 6k debut with a time of 23:28.97.
Philbrook expands on her tremendous campaign, finishing 15th in an astonishing career-best of 23:29.70, which beats her previous best by over two minutes.
The Panthers finished 11th in the meet, finishing ahead of Connecticut College and RPI, both which rank in the top-10 in the Mideast Region.

How it Happened:
- Karow and Philbrook paced the Panthers with top-15 finishes in times of 23:28.97 and 23:29.70.
- Senior Lexi Marcolini (Milford, Mass.) took a top-80 finish and laid down a blazing career best in 25:56.46, which was just shy of two minutes faster than her previous best.
- Junior Abby Snow (Grantham, N.H.) placed within the top-100 with a time of 26:24.83, while freshman Abby Bergeron (Essex Jct., Vt.) closed out the Panthers' top-five in a time of 27:14.78.
- The duo of senior Amy Cohen (Concord, N.H.) and sophomore Isabel Costa (Burrillville, R.I.) made up the top-seven with Cohen crossing the line in 27:37.19, and Costa running a huge career-best by roughly three minutes in 27:54.16.
- Sophomore Amber Fernald (Alton, N.H.) and senior Emma Duggan (Concord, Mass.) represented the Panthers in the women's JV race with times of 30:11.05 and 32:32.24, respectively.
