SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior
Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.) placed for the second straight weekend as he claimed sixth place at 165 pounds to lead the Plymouth State University wrestling team at the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College on Saturday.
Miller picked up a pin as he won his first two bouts to move to the quarterfinal round. After a narrow loss by decision he bounced back with a 4-1 decision and another pin to get to the fifth place bout before suffering a setback to end his day.
Plymouth State finished 16th as a team, less than two points behind New England College.

How it Happened:
- For the second straight tournament Miller used two pins to get into the fifth place bout. A pin and medical forfeit started his day to jump into the quarterfinals, where he came up just short in an 8-5 decision. Miller rebounded to pick up a 4-1 decision, then pinned his next opponent to move into the fifth place bout, but he settled for sixth after a 19-11 setback.
- Junior Chase Anestis (Belmont, N.H.) won back-to-back, 4-1 decisions to reach the quarterfinals at 184 pounds, before a narrow 5-2 decision sent him to the consolation bracket. He advanced to the consolation round of four with a pin, but missed a spot on the podium after suffering a 4-3 decision.
- Junior Colin Hile (Walpole, Mass.) won a pair of bouts at 174 pounds, including a quick pin in just 48 seconds.
- Classmate Damari Goldsmith-Greene (Whitman, Mass.) opened his day with a win by fall and added a major decision victory to finish 2-2 on the day.
- Seniors Yuri Case (Fairfield, Conn.) and Jack Carrozzi (Bedford, N.H.), sophomore Nick Savariego (Hillsdale, N.J.) and freshmen Jack Edwards (Duxbury, Mass.) and Will Pinto (Peabody, Mass.) also picked up victories on the day.
