GORHAM, Maine – Junior
Chase Anestis (Belmont, N.H.) finished fourth at 184 pounds to lead Plymouth State University to a seventh-place team finish at the Ted Reese Invitational at the University of Southern Maine on Saturday.
Anestis, who entered the weekend ranked 8th in his weight class in the latest New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) individual rankings, got off to a big start with a 15-0 technical fall victory. He followed up with a win by decision but suffered a 5-0 setback in the semifinals. Anestis bounced back with an 11-4 win in the consolation semifinals to advance to the third-place bout, but he came up just short in a 4-2 decision.
Plymouth State finished seventh as a team with 30 points, just behind Maine Maritime Academy's 33 points.

How it Happened:
- Anestis extended his fantastic season with his run to the third-place bout.
- Senior Yuri Case (Fairfield, Conn.) bounced back from a loss in his opening bout to record back-to-back pins. A 6-3 win by decision moved him to the consolation round of four before a loss ended his day.
- Freshman Parker Hughes (Barrington, R.I.) kicked off his day at 141 pounds with a pin and added a 16-9 win by decision in the consolation bracket.
- Junior Robert Tarasuk (Hampton, N.H.) won by fall in his opening bout and picked up a huge 18-3 technical fall victory to go 2-2 at 165 pounds.
- Freshman Will Pinto (Peabody, Mass.) also won twice at 165 pounds. After dropping his opening bout, he responded with an 8-5 win by decision and picked up a win by fall to move into the second consolation round of eight before bowing out.
- Other winners included senior Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.), juniors Damari Goldsmith-Greene (Whitman, Mass.), Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.), Carlos Barrios (Staten Island, N.Y.), Colin Hile (Walpole, Mass.) and Dan Espinal (Pearl River, N.Y.) and sophomore Michael Moussa (Tucson, Ariz.).
