PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) picked up a win by fall but Rhode Island College topped Plymouth State University, 40-15, in a wrestling dual meet at the RIC Recreation Center on Friday night.
 
The Anchormen got out to an early lead with three straight wins, but Antonucci got the Panthers on the board with his pin late in the second period. RIC followed with a pair of wins to extend the margin to 28-6, but PSU got victories from senior Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.) and junior Chase Anestis (Belmont, N.H.) to attempt to get back into the match.
 
The hosts snuffed out PSU's rally with victories in the final two weight classes.
 
Plymouth State drops its first dual meet of the year, while RIC moves to 3-2.

How it Happened:

• The hosts jumped out to a 17-0 lead with wins at 125, 133 and 141 pounds.
• Antonucci picked up his first pin of the season with 16 seconds left in the second period to win at 149.
• RIC answered with a pin and technical fall win to push the margin to 28-6.
• Miller controlled his opponent at 174 pounds for a convincing 18-4 major decision and Anestis followed with a dominant 15-0 tech fall victory to cut into the margin.
• The Anchormen closed out the win with pins at 197 and 285.
• Junior Colin Hile (Walpole, Mass.) added an exhibition win at 174.
