MITF: Rigoli nabs second straight All-American honor

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior Jacob Rigoli (Essex, Vt.) took home his second All-America honors in as many years while competing at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships at Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday morning.

Rigoli finished fifth in the weight throw with a heave of 19.00 meters to earn All-American for the second straight year. Rigoli had an impressive start heading into the finals as the sixth seed with a throw of 18.90 meters. He saved his best throw for last, jumping up to fourth with his mark of 19.00 meters, before slipping one spot to finish fifth.

Rigoli is the only field athlete in program history to claim All-America status, doing so in back-to-back years. He joins Sam Brunnette and Terrell Lewis as the only athletes in program history with at least two All-America honors.
