MEDFORD, Mass. – Seniors
Jacob Rigoli (Essex, Vt.) and
Mike Olson (Sutton, Mass.) both took their shot at moving up the national performance lists for the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field team at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet the Gantcher Center on Saturday.
Rigoli posted his best performance in the weight throw since his season debut with a heave of 19.24 meters to top the entire field by roughly two meters. Rigoli enters as the fourth seed on the national performance lists with a mark of 19.42 meters.
Olson made an impressive showing in the 800-meter run where he placed fifth with a time of 1:54.97. His season best time of 1:53.12 keeps him within the top-50 in the nation in the event.
Rigoli will make his second run at All America honors at the NCAA Division III National Championships in Birmingham, Ala. next week, though the field won't officially be announced until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday (Mar. 5) in a press release on NCAA.com.
