PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman
Teagan Wilson (Salisbury, Mass.) surpassed the 40-save threshold for the third time this season but #11 Norwich University scored three first period goals on the way to a 5-0 win over Plymouth State University in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women's ice hockey game at Hanaway Rink on Saturday afternoon.
The Cadets struck in the opening minute and added a power play goal at the 5:31 mark of the first before adding a third tally with 3:24 left in the frame. The visitors tacked on two more in the second before Plymouth State held the high-powered Cadets scoreless through the final period.
Plymouth State slips to 5-16-0 (5-9-0 NEHC), while the Cadets, ranked #11 in this week's USCHO.com national poll, jump to 14-5-2 (12-2-1 NEHC).

How it Happened:
- Wilson was tested early and often in the opening period as the Cadets barraged the goaltender with 22 shots.
- Norwich scored in the opening minute and added two more first period markers for a quick 3-0 lead.
- The ice leveled out in the second period as the Panthers fired nine shots on goal to Norwich's 11, but the Cadets were able to tack on a pair of late goals to extend the margin to 5-0.
- Wilson stood tall in the third period, keeping the high-powered Norwich offense at bay, but PSU was unable to solve the Cadets' netminder.
By the Numbers:
- Plymouth State blocked 17 shots, with senior Lauren McNeil (Ottawa, Ontario) leading the charge with four.
- Junior Brenna Smith (Medfield, Mass.) added three blocks.
- Wilson stopped 42 shots, including 19 in the opening frame. She's averaging more than 38 saves per game, with a 2.48 goals against average and spectacular .939 save percentage.
- The Cadets went 1-for-4 on the power play, while PSU finished 0-for-1.
- Norwich held a 47-15 advantage in shots.
- The Panthers are still seeking their first win in the head-to-head matchup.
