PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior
Chase Anestis (Belmont, N.H.) won both of his bouts at 165 pounds to pace the Plymouth State University wrestling team in a triangular at Rhode Island College on Saturday.
Anestis posted a technical fall victory in PSU's 48-5 setback to the host Anchormen, before finishing his day with a major decision win during a 48-8 loss to WPI.
Graduate student
Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.) was responsible for the Panthers' other victory, taking a major decision at 184 pounds against the Engineers.
Competing in its first dual meets of the season, Plymouth State starts the year at 0-2. RIC goes to 1-1, while the Engineers start 2-0.

How it Happened (RIC):
- Senior Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) tried to spark the Panthers against RIC, putting up a fight at 157 pounds, but he came up short in an 18-11 decision.
- Anestis secured Plymouth State's first points when he recorded a 15-0 technical fall win at 165 pounds.
- RIC was in control the rest of the way to secure the season-opening win.
How it Happened (WPI):
- The Engineers got out to a quick start with wins in the first five weight classes.
- Anestis stopped the streak with an 11-1 major decision at 165 pounds.
- Miller added to the PSU scoreline with a major decision victory of his own, 15-2, at 184 pounds.
- WPI was strong in its remaining bouts to close out the victory.
- Miller's win gives him 51 for his career, while Anestis is inching toward the 50-win threshold himself with 46.
