SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student
Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.) placed sixth at 184 pounds to pace Plymouth State University as the Panthers wrestled at the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College on Saturday.
After dropping his opening bout, Miller won four straight to advance to the fifth place match where he came up just short in a 6-3 decision.
Junior
Michael Moussa (Tucson, Ariz.) picked up a pair of wins at 197 pounds to finish in the consolation round of eight.
Plymouth State finished tied for 13th in the team rankings.

How it Happened:
- Miller opened his day with a loss by fall to Zach Borzio of Williams, but he quickly rebounded. He followed with a pair of decisive technical fall wins, topping Colin Riley of Western New England (17-1) and Luke Burns of Wesleyan (15-0) to cruise through the consolation bracket. Miller continued with a 10-3 decision over Joe Colon of Wesleyan and 8-1 decision over Truman Noble from Coast Guard to set up a rematch with Borzio in the fifth-place match. The rematch was a tight battle, though Borzio was able to escape with a 6-3 decision.
- Moussa rallied from an opening round loss with a 21-6 technical fall win over Matthew Donis of Western New England. He added a 10-4 decision over David Laprade of Williams before suffering a fall in the consolation round of eight.
- Senior Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) picked up a win at 157 pounds to finish 1-2 on the day.
