PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Freshman
Ty Shipmon (Yonkers, N.Y.) had a dynamic debut as the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field team took first place at the PSU Winter Classic at the Bank of New Hampshire Field House at ALLWell North on Friday afternoon.
In the season opener, Shipmon set a new program record in the 200-meters to finish second in 23.09, while adding a victory in the 60-meter dash in 7.09.
Plymouth State claimed victories in six of the meet's 13 events.
The meet marked the program's first competition under the direction of new head coach
Will Tifft.

How it Happened:
- Shipmon was second in the 200-meter dash with a school record time of 23.09.
- Shipmon was also one of three Panthers to qualify for the finals of the 60-meter dash. Shipmon blazed to the win in 7.09, while freshman Gabe Kean (Thornton, N.H.) and junior Nik Snyder (Pelham, N.H.) finished fourth and eighth, respectively. Shipmon shaved 0.11 seconds off his qualifying time.
- Senior Christian Oglesby (Penacook, N.H.) won the 400-meter run in 52.12 with senior Brayden White (Whitefield, N.H.) finishing right on his heels in second.
- Plymouth State swept the top three spots in the mile run, with senior Dylan Flewelling (Oakland, Maine) leading the charge in 4:33.04. Junior Luke Cloutier (Lyman, Maine) was second in 4:37.96, with senior Eli Roth (Stamford, Conn.) rounding out the top three in 4:39.66.
- Kean, sophomore Elijah Thomas (Stoughton, Mass.), junior Zach Hodge (Springfield, N.H.) and Cloutier teamed up to win the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay after combining for a 3:43.59.
- PSU took five of the top six spots in the 3,000-meter run, with Flewelling pacing the group in 9:11.68 to finish second. Junior Dan Daschbach-Eaton (Exeter, N.H.) was third in 9:27.59.
- PSU took the top two spots in the shot put, with freshman Jake Leazott (Barre, Mass.) winning the event with a heave of 12.59 meters. Sophomore Joey Bellemore (Goffstown, N.H.) was second with a toss of 11.59 meters.
- Freshman Cooper Conklin (Cumberland, R.I.) picked up a victory in his debut after leading the pack in the weight throw with a mark of 13.34 meters.
- Thomas and sophomore Shea McLaughlin (Byfield, Mass.) took second and third in finals of the 60-meter hurdles after crossing the line in 8.93 and 9.19. PSU had three other runners qualify for the finals as freshman CJ Lytle (Merrimack, N.H.), sophomore Nic Lamontagne (West Lebanon, N.H.) and junior Logan Rines (Littleton, N.H.) ended up fifth, sixth and eighth.
- Junior Josh Rebello (North Dighton, Mass.) was second in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:25.75.
- Junior Joel Newman (Natick, Mass.) placed second in the high jump after clearing 1.85 meters, while Kean was second in the long jump with a leap of 6.24 meters. Senior Joey Cappelletti (Mansfield, Mass.) was fourth in the event after bounding 6.06 meters.
