DURHAM, N.H. – Freshmen
Cam McMahon (East Hampstead, N.H.) and
Will Pinto (Peabody, Mass.) won their respective weight classes to lead the Plymouth State University wrestling team to a third-place finish at the Henry Marsh Invitational at UNH on Sunday.
McMahon won all three of his bouts at 125 pounds, while Pinto went 4-0 at 165 pounds as the duo each claimed their first career tournament titles.
Sophomore
Nick Savariego (Hillsdale, N.J.), senior
Evan Kramich (Lynnfield, Mass.) and junior
Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) also placed for the Panthers.
Plymouth State finished third as a team with 91.5 team points. Springfield Tech took first with 139.0, with UMASS taking second with 108.0.

How it Happened:
- McMahon cruised through the bracket at 125 pounds, picking up his first two career pins before clinching the title with a 15-1 major decision victory.
- Pinto also dominated the competition at 165 pounds. After a win by fall, he recorded back-to-back lopsided technical falls (19-4, 18-3), before sealing the title with a win by fall in 1:00 in the championship bout.
- Savariego claimed third at 133 pounds. He picked up a win by fall in 1:56 in his opening bout. After losing by fall in his second round, Savariego recovered with a 14-8 decision before winning by fall in 1:45 in the third-place bout.
- Kramich picked up a sizable 19-2 tech fall win in his first bout. After falling to Pinto in the second round, he advanced with a narrow 2-0 decision before ripping off three straight pins to take third.
- Antonucci bounced back from an opening bout tech fall loss to earn an 8-7 decision. He followed with a win by fall and another 6-2 decision but fell in the third-place bout in a 15-10 decision to end up fourth.
- Juniors Carlos Barrios (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Colin Hile (Walpole, Mass.) competed at 184 pounds. Barrios went 2-2, while Hile went 1-2.
- Freshman Jon Picon Ruiz (Central Falls, R.I.) also wrestled for the Panthers, going 0-2 at 235 pounds.
