CASTLETON, Vt. – Junior
Chase Anestis (Belmont, N.H.) picked up his 16th win of the season but #7 Vermont State University Castleton overpowered Plymouth State University, 49-3, in a wrestling dual meet at Glenbrook Gymnasium on Friday night.
The Spartans, who moved into #7 in the latest NWCA national dual rankings released today, secured nine straight wins until Anestis closed out the contest with his win at 174 pounds.
Plymouth State slips to 0-13 in duals, while the Spartans improve to 19-3.

How it Happened:
- The Spartans were in control from the onset to build a 34-0 team lead through the first six weight classes.
- Junior Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.0 put up a fight at 149 pounds before suffering a technical fall.
- Senior Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.) was deadlocked in a tight battle at 165 pounds. With the score knotted at 9-9, his opponent secured a takedown to pull ahead late. With time winding down, Miller went super-aggressive, and another takedown sealed his fate in a 17-9 major decision setback.
- Anestis continued his fantastic season with an impressive 12-6 win to close out the match. He now boasts a record of 16-6 on the season and improves to 9-2 at 174 pounds. His 16 wins trail just Miller, who leads the team with a 21-10 mark.
