WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Senior
Chase Anestis (Belmont, N.H.) went a perfect 4-0 with three pins to win the 165-pound weight class while leading the Plymouth State University wrestling team at the Williams Open hosted by Williams College on Saturday.
Anestis picked up back-to-back wins by fall to advance to the semifinal round, where he advanced with a narrow 2-0 win by decision. In the title bout he followed with his third pin of the day to pick up his first victory of the season and the second of his career.
Freshman
Cam Monahan (Salem, N.H.) also placed for the Panthers, taking fourth at 133 pounds after going 3-2 on the day.

How it Happened:
- Competing at 165 pounds, Anestis opened his day with a win by fall in 2:41 and he advanced to the semifinal round with a pin in 2:00. Anestis faced his toughest challenge of the day in the semifinals, but he was able to hold on for a 2-0 win by decision before securing the win with a pin in 2:30 in the championship bout. Anestis sports a 14-2 record with six pins and no pins against on the season.
- After a first round fall, Monahan rallied with three straight wins, including a pin, to reach the third place match at 133 pounds, though he suffered a loss by fall to finish fourth.
- Graduate student Ty Miller (Groton, Conn.) recorded consecutive pins to reach the semifinals, before suffering back-to-back losses to end his day at 2-2 at 184 pounds. Miller leads the team with 15 wins and is tied with Anestis for the team-lead with six pins.
- Seniors Nick Antonucci (Windham, N.H.) at 157 pounds and Colin Hile (Walpole, Mass.) at heavyweight both went 2-2 on the day. Both of Hile's wins came by fall.
- Freshman Nick Nicosia (Tyngsboro, Mass.) also picked up a win for the Panthers.
