HOPKINTON, N.H. – Junior
Ben Colby (Manchester, N.H.) ran the fastest 8K of his career, while sophomore
Noah Francis (Bethlehem, N.H.) and junior
Angelo DeLuca (Lynnfield, Mass.) finished just outside the top 50 to lead the Plymouth State University men's cross country team at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship, hosted by Suffolk University at Hopkinton Fair Grounds on Saturday.
Colby shaved four-tenths of a second off his previous best time to finish 69th in 26:40.00. Francis ran 26:13.50 to place 53rd, while DeLuca, who has shown strong late-season form, finished 56th in 26:17.70.
Juniors
Cooper O'Neil (Millbury, Mass.) and
Nathan Beauregard (Merrimack, N.H.) rounded out PSU's scoring, both finishing within the top 100. O'Neil placed 92nd in 27:23.10, and Beauregard crossed the line in 27:30.00 for 98th, narrowly ahead of seniors
Max Goodman (South Salem, N.Y.) and
Luke Cloutier (Lyman, Maine), who finished 99th and 102nd, respectively.
Plymouth State scored 366 points to finish 13th as a team, one spot ahead of Little East Conference opponent Southern Maine.
