WENHAM, Mass. – Senior
Yansel Reyes (Manchester, N.H.) scored 27 points, recording a new career high for the second straight night, but Bates College pulled away late to defeat Plymouth State University 95–87 to conclude the Gordon Classic at the Bennett Center on Saturday afternoon.
After a back and forth start which saw the teams tied at 20-20, the Panthers moved ahead with some strong shooting to take a four-point lead into the locker room. Bates used red-hot shooting in the second half to jump ahead of the Panthers and hand them their first loss of the season.

Torran Bosworth (Springfield, Mass.) put up a season high of 19 points, while sophomore
Brady Hulland (Amston, Conn.) poured in a career-high 16 points to go with a career-best five steals.
Plymouth State falls to 3-1, while Bates improves to 2-0.

- Five different Panthers knocked down three-pointers to give the Panthers an early seven point lead.
- Reyes made a pair of layups and a triple to help spark an 11-0 run that pushed the Panther lead to 10.
- Bates got hot late, hitting a trio of three-pointers to close the half on a 13-3 run.
- Plymouth State maintained a four-point edge at the halftime break, 45-41.
- The second half started with the teams trading buckets until the Panthers went on an 8-3 run, bookended by Hulland and Reyes triples, to get the lead back to six.
