PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On the heels of an unbeaten week, junior
Annalyn Cahill (Mystic, Conn.) and graduate student
Ella Koelb (Auburn, N.H.) have been recognized by the Little East Conference (LEC) with weekly honors, the league announced Monday.

Cahill was named the LEC Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Koelb earned Setter of the Week. Plymouth State topped the University of New England in a five-set battle on Wednesday before handing the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth its only LEC loss with a dynamic four-set win Saturday.

Cahill recorded 34 kills and seven blocks while hitting .267 for the week. She pounded a career-high 19 kills (.311) with three blocks and three digs in the marathon win over UNE, then posted a match-best 12 kills (.220) with four blocks and two digs in the victory over the Corsairs – a result that keeps the Panthers in contention for the regular season title and top seed in the upcoming LEC Tournament.

Koelb averaged 5.33 assists, 2.11 kills, and 2.33 digs per set, while adding six aces and two blocks for the week. Already tied for the most triple-doubles in NCAA Division III, she narrowly missed another with an 11-kill, 27-assist, nine-dig effort against the Nor'easters, also contributing two blocks and an ace in the win. Koelb closed the week with 21 assists, 12 digs, eight kills and five aces in the victory over the Corsairs.

Plymouth State hosts Colby-Sawyer in a non-conference match on Wednesday (Nov. 5) at 4 p.m. before closing the regular-season at UMass Boston on Saturday (Nov. 8). A win in that match would secure PSU's fifth regular season title in the last six years.
