BOSTON, Mass. – Senior
Connor Wilcox (Colchester, Conn.) set a personal best in the 5,000-meters while representing the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field team at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center on Friday afternoon.
Wilcox, who previously recorded a career-best 15:24.01 at the Little East Conference (LEC) Championships two weeks ago, improved his time by nearly eight seconds, finishing in 15:16.09. He placed fourth overall, leading all NCAA Division III competitors in a field that included eight Division I and five Division III runners.
Notably, Wilcox outpaced his LEC counterparts by more than 37 seconds.
A small group of Plymouth State athletes will conclude the indoor season at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet on Saturday (Mar. 8).
