BOSTON, Mass. – Eleven different players found the scoresheet, but the University of Massachusetts Boston used an early run to take control, and Plymouth State University was unable to rally in an 80-55 setback to the Beacons in a Little East Conference (LEC) men's basketball game at the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium on Wednesday afternoon.
Plymouth State fell behind 7-0 before sophomores
Will Mollica (Stratham, N.H.) and
Brady Hulland (Amston, Conn.) cut the deficit to 9-5 through the opening four minutes. A 21-2 surge near the end of the first half gave UMass Boston a 47-21 halftime lead. Although PSU outscored the Beacons in the second half, the deficit was too large to overcome.
The Panthers fell to 6-9 (2-4 LEC), while UMass Boston improved to 9-6 (5-1 LEC).
