PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior
Joel Newman (Natick, Mass.) and freshman
Enzo Valenti (Montville, Conn.) led the way for the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field team on Saturday, as the Panthers placed fourth out of 10 teams as the Panther Invitational at Bank of New Hampshire Field House in ALLWell North.
Newman tied for second in the high jump with a season-best clearance of 1.80 meters, while Valenti turned in a pair of podium finishes, placing third in the weight throw and second in the shot put.
The Panthers scored points across the board, highlighted by a runner-up finish from the 4x800-meter relay team of senior
Luke Cloutier (Lyman, Maine), and juniors
Nathan Beauregard (Merrimack, N.H.),
Connor Phillips (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), and
Ben Colby (Manchester, N.H.). Senior
Max Goodman (South Salem, N.Y.) added a fourth-place showing in the 5,000 meters, while Cloutier finished third in the mile run.

Meet Highlights:
- Goodman finished fourth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:55.49. Sophomore Noah Francis (Bethlehem, N.H.) was right behind him in 16:08.25 to place seventh.
- Sophomores Gabe Kean (Thornton, N.H.) and Ty Shipmon (Yonkers, N.Y.) both qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash. Kean was fifth in 7.26 seconds, while Shipmon claimed the final qualifying spot with a time of 7.35.
- In the finals, Shipmon narrowly edged Kean for fifth place with a 7.29. Kean crossed the line in 7.31 seconds to finish sixth.
- Cloutier finished third in the mile run with a time of 4:33.17. Beauregard and Phillips were eighth and ninth in 4:41.43 and 4:43.32, respectively.
- Hodge and freshman Cam Lee (Northwood, N.H.) were fourth and fifth in the 400 meters. Hodge posted a season-best time of 52.88 seconds, while Lee set a PR in 53.01.
- Sophomore CJ Lytle (Merrimack, N.H.) finished seventh in the long jump after a leap of 5.46 meters.
- Newman tied for second in the high jump after clearing a season-best 1.80 meters.
- Valenti placed third in the weight throw with a heave of 15.21 meters and added a runner-up finish in the shot put after a mark of 12.60 meters.
- Junior Kole Matta (Castleton, Vt.) and freshmen Kellen Bateman (Exeter, N.H.) and Maxx Telofski (Peterborough, N.H.) finished sixth, seventh, and eighth in the shot put.
- Colby set a PR in the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.40 to place fifth.
- Freshman Griffin Massahos (Londonderry, N.H.) and Lee were neck-and-neck in the 200 meters. Massahos finished seventh in 23.77 seconds, with Lee taking eighth in 23.78.
- PSU's 4x800-meter relay team of Cloutier, Beauregard, Phillips, and Colby teamed up for a time of 8:29.23 to finish second.
