GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Luke Cloutier (Lyman, Maine) and junior
Ben Colby (Manchester, N.H.) posted individual event wins to lead the Plymouth State University men's indoor track & field team to a fifth-place finish at the Husky Invitational hosted by the University of Southern Maine at the USM Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Colby topped a field that included multiple NCAA Division II runners in the 600-meters, while Cloutier beat out junior
Connor Phillips (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) for the top spot in the 1,000-meters. Junior
Angelo DeLuca (Lynnfield, Mass.) was one of three PSU runners to finish among the top five in the mile run. In throws, freshman
Parker Wood (Alton, N.H.) was sixth in the shot put with a season best mark, while senior
Bryce Harmon (Barrington, N.H.) was sixth in the weight throw.
Plymouth State finished fifth out of ten teams with 63 points.

Meet Highlights:
- Freshman Jiasen Smith (Lisbon, N.H.) made his debut in the 55-meter dash, finishing 14th in the prelims in 6.90 seconds.
- Smith led a trio of Panthers in the top-15 of the 200-meters, placing 12th in 24.39 seconds. Freshman Tegan Drake (Alexandria, N.H.) was 13th in 24.45, while junior Nick Sobalo (Pelham, N.H.) placed 14th in 24.50.
- Freshman Devin Schlegel-Barber (Milton, Vt.) and junior Shea McLaughlin (Byfield, Mass.) were neck-and-neck in the 400-meters. Schlegel-Barber finished ninth in 54.27 seconds, while McLaughlin was 10th with a time of 55.07.
- Colby cruised to victory in the 600-meters in 1:27.94, winning by nearly two full seconds.
- Junior Nathan Beauregard (Merrimack, N.H.) took fifth in the 800-meters, with sophomore Noah Francis (Bethlehem, N.H.) finishing ninth in 2:09.69.
- Cloutier and Phillips took the top two spots in the 1,000-meter run. Cloutier crossed the line in 2:41.75, with Phillips finishing in 2:45.03.
- DeLuca led a trio of Panthers to top-five finishes in the mile run. DeLuca was third in 4:38.44, with freshman Alex LeClair (Presque Isle, Maine) and junior Cooper O'Neil (Millbury, Mass.) behind him in fourth and fifth in 4:46.67 and 4:48.55, respectively.
- McLaughlin and sophomore CJ Lytle (Merrimack, N.H.) both qualified for the finals of the 55-meter hurdles. McLaughlin finished fourth in the finals with a time of 8.18 seconds, while Lytle was seventh in 8.46.
- Junior Khalid Vicks (Kingston, Mass.) was 13th in the long jump after a leap of 5.78 meters.
- Wood and freshmen Kellen Bateman (Exeter, N.H.) and Owen Arias (Madison, N.H.) placed sixth, eighth, and ninth in the shot put. Wood recorded a mark of 12.40 meters, while Bateman and Arias threw 12.02 and 11.50, respectively.
- Harmon, Arias, and sophomore Isaac Robert (Hebron, N.H.) notched top-ten finishes in the weight throw. Harmon was sixth with a heave of 12.17 meters. Arias placed seventh (12.12m), while Robert took ninth (11.62m).
